The Glitching Hour: By Glitch Face and Robot Games
Johannesburg’s First Gaming Halloween Jam!
Featuring: Glitch Witches
It’s been a tough 2016 for a lot of us, we’ve had it all, from student protests to Donald Trump! It’s been hectic, it’s been stressful, it’s been scary! It doesn’t look like it’s going to slow down any time soon either.
If you’re not frightened enough already, then the crazy guys at Glitch Face and Robot Games have some more bad news, It’s Halloween in 2016, and the gaming ghouls, cyber-creatures, and glitch-witches are coming out to play! (Yeah, I’m naming my next MMORPG character Glitch Witch)
What’s Happening at Jozi’s Gaming Jam?
A whole lot of things are going to be going on and down! Think of it like the rAge Expo’s underground heavy metal baby brother. The Glitching Hour will include some of our tastiest old school gaming experiences combined with some teeth clenching new technology:
- 15 games – From Indie to AAA, Sourced locally and from across the globe
- HTC Vive virtual reality games to blast your brains out of reality and into the Matrix
- Custom Controllers – Fly spaceships with bananas! (BANANAS!? WTF?)
- Awesome “Art” Installations
- Old school arcade cabinets
- Competitive Gaming – For bragging rights and prizes (No Bravado here)
The Hour will also include some of the best new and up-and-coming electro music talent DJ’s and drinks at fallen prices. The local DJ’s talent includes:
Dress Up To Win Cash!
The weird bunch will be giving two R500 cash prizes to two lucky winners. Here’s how it’s gonna work:
Best Dressed Robot!
Come dressed as an awesome looking robot, doesn’t matter what universe, and stand a chance to win R500 cash. Dragon Ball Z Androids don’t count, they just look like regular people.
Best Dressed (Not a Robot!)
Come dressed as anything other than a robot and you’ll stand a chance to win a separate R500 cash. We accept any monsters, creatures, beasts, celebrities, political figures, inanimate objects, or even stuff that doesn’t exist yet.
Not a bad setup and a must go for any geek tired of lines and look to explore the next level in Indie Gaming culture! See you in Braam kids!
The Venue is in the heart of the burning streets of the beating Tshimologong Precinct; 47 Juta Street, 2001 Johannesburg, South Africa.
