Entrepreneur: You Will Doubt and Panic
Starting is never easy, but more challenging still is staying the course.
I’d like to sit here and tell you that throughout my journey of running my own business that there was never a moment where I doubted the path that I had chosen and if my energy and life may not be better suited to a life at a larger more established company.
The truth is that it’s a daily effort.
I liken it to running, something I hate doing, something that takes far more effort than I want it to and every time I run, I fight it. I fight for every breath and I fight for every step I take.
It’s like a business, every step I take forward, I fight. I fight for every meter, for every inch by bloody inch.
When I stop fighting forward, I feel like I’m about to loose, like all the work and effort is about to slip away and I’ll have to start all over again, and that’s the painful part. When this happens, when I stop moving, the panic and doubt set in.
when I stop moving, the panic and doubt set in…
When they set in, I have to fight back up again.
I wish I could tell you dear reader that I was a smiley cheerful entity all the time, but the truth is, I work to be the best person I can be. I fight the panic and the doubt because when those set in, all the hard work I did to get to this point is wasted.
That’s a part of being an entrepreneur. The choice to take the risk and go on your own means risking everything; lifestyle, preferences, friends and family, everything. That can be a heavy weight for a lot of people to bare, and most of the time, it’s just not worth the risk for them. (Which is ok)
For me though, I work at it, I know the person I enjoy being, I know what makes me happy and I fight for the version of myself every day.
For you, if there’s anything I can tell you on how to deal with the self-doubt and panic or anxiety.
Keep walking, keep fighting, inch by bloody inch, and never stop.
The best version of yourself is worth it.
